Description

A stereo system presents 2 speakers of sound simultaneously, 5.1 surround-sound uses 6 speakers simultaneously, the SoundWire System uses anything up to 72 speakers of simultaneous independent sound Ð itÕs a system which can send the sound right around you, can send it over your head, across the room and back again, giving a unique and dynamic experience of music and sound.

How it works

We are used to hearing sounds which have been compressed down to 2 speakers, but our hearing has evolved to discern sounds in a 360 degree radial field around us Ð when sounds are separated out across numerous speakers, we hear with greater clarity and have a far greater dynamic experience.

Uses:

The SoundWire Multichannel System presents music in a unique format.Ð with individual playback across up to 72 speakers, giving a completely new experience of the music (imagine for example hearing every instrument of the orchestra separately or imagine that the instruments in a band can appear all around you). Specially made sound design and music can be created to spectacular effect.

Content

Content is endlessly variable in the same way that content for a stereo is. But because the system is unique, music is created specifically for the environment and can only be experienced in that environment*.

As a start point 3 spectacular ÒshowÓ pieces of 3-4 minutes duration and 3 themed Òambient/sound designÓ pieces of 30 minutes duration are created to provide a rich variety of content.

Content can be updated as and when is desirable, with sound environments made along specific themes.

The system can, of course, also play normal stereo mixes from Cds, MP3 players and so on.
